I have always enjoyed yoga throughout my life and have attended many different variations, Carly’s classes however have an easy to follow flow to them, which also push you enough to improve your mobility so you can continue with your other day to day activities, I always leave Carly’s class feeling totally relaxed and stretched and as a working mum I value that greatly.

Ok, lets be honest here – whenever we think about Yoga we think about a bunch of hippies sitting around in funny positions humming to themselves or middle aged mum’s in Yoga pants chilling out and having a catch up…..

Well at least that’s what I used to think, I decided to give it a go one day because it’ll be easy and I needed a cool down #GymBro.

To say that I was wrong is an understatement, I mean DAMN, YOGA IS NOT EASY, I’ve never shook so much in my life and the “Relaxation” took some getting used to as well but been keeping at it and the benefits massively outweigh the crippling shame while you are dying trying to hold a down-dog for 2 mins while the rest of the class hold it as naturally as breathing.

10/10 a must for all athletes – Its not about tightening your arse, its about getting your head out of it.

My first experience of yoga was at a 4 hour handstand workshop in London. I had no idea it was being lead by a famous yoga instructor and the place was full of yogis, the yoga mats were so close to each other, we were crammed into the place like sardines in a tin. I’m 5ft 8” so my feet were literally touching the persons head in front, there seemed to be limbs, breath and feet everywhere. I assumed it was a strength and conditioning workshop with a focus on learning progression for handstands…. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It was assumed that everyone there knew at least the basics of yoga. The whole experience nearly put me off for life!

That was until I met Carly… I finally experienced one of her classes and it was noting like my previous experience. I was made to feel really welcome and the atmosphere was so relaxing and chilled. I love the low lighting and the mindfulness body scan that Carly does at the beginning of her classes. As a busy working mum of 2 girls, it quickly eases and stresses from the day. I feel it’s an essential part of my weekly training. The only complaint I have is that I wish she had more classes on!
